what is happening??

A couple weeks ago my 6 line wrasse died. I checked all the parameters and everything was normal. did a water change and moved on. today I realized my diamond goby is dead as well. checked all the parameters again everything is normal. also for some reason my polyps aren't opening all the way or they seem unhappy I have no idea what is going on in this tank. please help!!

Could be so many things ranging from unstable temperature to disease to toxins in the air. I'd start with a large water change and watch all the other fish for signs of illness. Which parameters are you checking? Tell us more about your system.

I did a 50% water change yesterday. I checked for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, calcium, PH, cant check for phosphate because i ran out of packets for my hanna checker. I have a 75 gal running off of a fluval 406 canister filter. i clean the filter once a week. I have some hair algae growing on the walls and some of the rocks but, I'm guessing its from when the fish died.

Chemistry change with the water changes perhaps
Also might have heavy metals if the polyps are not happy.

If you're growing hair algae you probably have some amount of nitrates and phosphates. You might want to check your test kit for nitrates to make sure it's reading properly and test for the phosphates soon. What are you running in the fluval for media? If the polyps aren't looking good I'd look for a water issue even if your test kits don't show a problem. What's your salinity?

salinity is 1.025 im running carbon and biomax in it.
