Finally got my new tank set up and cycled. Added fish 2 days ago. Kinda new to this so just wanted some opinions and advise. You’re looking at my Red Sea Reefer 450. Cycled for about a month till my tests came back good and added fish from my old tank. Just got a bubble tip and CUC added in today. First issue I’ve had is this growth in my sump. Just want someone to take a look and tell me it’s normal to be purple/pink/yellow/orange and green all at the same time ..... should I remove the sump and clean? Also, I’ve had the cabinet light on 24/7 since startup, would it be a good idea to shut that off when not in use ? Also open to any tips or recommendations you have on which reactors/fuges to run and most importantly.... when can I turn my lights on z
Thanks in advance

Ohh and a FTS =]
So far, what’s in the sump hasn’t migrated to the tank

My best guess would be bits of uneaten food. The fact that it all settled under the pump intake could be due to the fact that cyclone like movement can cause solid elements to settle on the outside. I would clean it and also would recommend you don't run the light any more than needed as it can cause extra maintenance headaches.

thanks but It started growing before I started feeding the tank. I did a fishless cycle with the ammonia drops

If not food it could be something that was in the sand, rock, fell into the tank. The only thing I've seen that looks like that is uneaten pellet or flake food but if it can't be that then I am at a loss.
