hi everyone, wondering if anyone knows what this fuzzy brown growth is? also the brown stuff on the sand? thanks.

Looks like a mixture of cyano and possibly hair algae. How are you removing the detritus that appears present? Turkey basters work well for blowing off the detritus, then let is settle and siphon out routinely.

hi, i turkey baste, scrub the rock with a tooth brush then vacuum out the sand and 25% water change. i’ve purposely let the stuff on the rock grow a bit so i could get a better picture. i started vinegar dosing to lower my nutrients from over feeding, the cyano looking stuff really cut back but this brown fuzzy stuff started growing, only on the rocks not the corals or sand. thanks.
