What is my hammer coral doing?

I don’t entirely know how to explain this, but why is the tissue growing up (especially on the left side)

what causes this and what can I do? It’s been happy for a while so I don’t know what changed

Looks happy to me.. mine will balloon up around the skeleton when the lights go out! I thought something was wrong also but the next day it’s happy and fluffy as can be.. I think that’s a good sign!

Btw if those 2 vermented snails aren’t dead I’d scrape them off the skeleton or superglue them shut, before they spread and cause problems!

I didn’t know they were even snails… what do they do to the corals? They are on a few so I’ll take care of that

They shoot webs out to feed and irritate corals. Some also bore into corals and kill them! They can become a real pain and take over a tank if not taken care of early. I’d pull the hammer out if possible and cut them off with some bone cutters or scrape them off with a knife etc, if possible. It’s a pest!

thanks for the info because I had no idea those were even living creatures! Now I am looking and they are on my other hammer and a trumpet coral as well. I’ll remove them immediately. Thank you!
