Hello! My acan has been thriving! I got it as a single head and it has already grown 2 smaller heads in the matter of 3-4 weeks! Anyways, I noticed a weird something near the mouth of my acan that appears to grow through it. I cannot figure out what it is. I’ve tried everything to try and get it off, but nothing makes it blow away. I’m thinking it has fused into the acan. The coral itself looks fine, other than the part where the black thing is growing. The coral is mad in the photo because of my water change. Any help would be appreciated:)

Buy a bumblebee snail put him right by the other and he will eat him and any others in the tank

Can you get a closer picture under white lights? I'm not seeing the telltale stovepipe of a Vermited.

the acan is super upset now, since the lights are dimming down, however, when i look at the thing from the side it almost has a blade like appearance

I have had vermatid snails in my tank before, but the thing on my acan doesn’t shoot out any slime or anything during feeding time. It sort of resembles a vermatid snail, but at the same time it looks like something else. I think i will give it time to see what happens.

Quick update:
Today I took the acan out to really look at what was on it and it turns out it was coral waste! The acan had kept “eating” it, so it wouldn’t release from its mouth. Crazy!
