Eggs from AEFW. if you have other sps you should remove that frag. Maybe let the person you got it from know they might have pests.

This is the first time I’ve seen eggs on a acro frag I’ve bought all the other acro frags have died in the past but I’ve been successful at keeping other sps, once I remove the frag will AEFW stay in my reef?

You need to inspect all your sps for bite marks..but essentially they lay eggs and hatch..so you might have more. I dont have pics of aefw bite marks but you can google it so you can compare. Good luck

Check out this link. If you have multiple pieces infected, UWC has created an in take treatment for AEFW. If you only have one frag of acropora you can toss or have the ability to remove and dip them, I'd go that route. If they are encrusted, check out the in take solution

Need to dip your coral every three days. Cover any eggs you see with glue. Going to be a long battle but it is doable

These worms only affect acropora op. You should do some reading about aefw if you haven't already. If that frags was just purchased you gotta tell the person you got it from to stop selling frags til he cleans his corals the right way.
Any person keeping or collecting acropora should be aware of aefw, if your not, read! Lots of good info online.

I got rid of it the day I posted this the only other aero I have is a green slimer that seems to never shows signs of stress or anything through this and its growing pretty good but I get all my corals from the same lfs

Read up on the forum here and learn to dip and inspect, I use Bayer, others use Coral Rx, but dip is a must. Find a better vendor. Sorry, not trying to be harsh but your spending hard earned money so you deserve better.

Both the dip and treatment are out of stock, but another option when they are back in.

If you have just a green slimer, make sure you can take it out and inspect if for signs of flatworms. They will hide in the corner like they know you can't see in that corner, it's crazy how deceptive they are. Green slimer are fairly notorious for resisting or being the last coral that's infected by a aefw infeatation. Use a dip like revive or melafix.

I agree while heartedly it’s not being harsh it’s the truth and everything is going to get dipped that’s already in their and future purchases

Do you buy your corals locally or do you order online? If online who do you recommend?

Adam at Battlecorals has always done well by me as far as online. World Wide Corals, Top Shelf Aquatics and Vivid Aquariums are good also. I do buy locally as well from 2 trusted sources but have had 1 contaminated frag in 6 years from them.

It's hard to trust any vendors, they all get new stuff in and most don't have the space or time and money to qt acropora. Imo the most infections come from local stores and local sellers who are unknowingly infected. Wild and Mari stuff is not as bad as people say it is, it's less rare to find a piece that's noticably infected come in than finding some at your local stores. They have time to get to large population numbers sitting at stores. The people collecting and shipping new colonies know how to keep their holding tanks clean and choose healthy coral, or business wouldn't be that good.
