Is what I'm pointing to a piece of the shell? If it is, that's the 90 degree angle I was missing.

It has tentacle like thinks coming out of where it opens, I don't see any pics out there that resemble it under limpets

That 90 degree angle is part of it but it is really small

I've got one at the base of my meat polyp. I only see it when the polyp closes up for the night. It's harmless.
