What is on my favia?

Noticed this on my new favia (favites?). Thought at first it was just some detritus but it didn't blow off with the turkey baster and it's definitely getting bigger. Thank you!

I’m going to guess some kind of hydroids. Got any pics of it under white light?

My phone camera has a hard time getting the detail; in person it looks very fuzzy.

Oh, interesting, those do look like they could be it! Should I be worried about it? Or just keep an eye and see if anything seems bothered?

Personally, (assuming it is a thecate hydroid species) I'd say if you like the looks of it and it's not bothering anything, then just keep an eye on it. With that in mind - and given that the coral seems fine (which to me would seem to indicate a relatively mild sting) - my main concern would just be how fast it reproduces. So, if you see new ones popping up in your tank, you may want to pull them just to prevent an infestation - otherwise it looks like it should be pretty harmless.
