I noticed the tang had white spot a yesterday. I thought it might’ve scratched itself against the rocks. Woke up this morning to check on it and it looks like it got worse. Anyone have any info on what it could be?

That seems to be a severe bacterial infection. I’m amazed that it spread so quickly. Fish can often recover from minor infections on their own, but this is pretty bad. You would want to move it to a treatment tank and dose it with a broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic such as Neoplex or Furan-2. You would also want to lower the salinity a bit, to a specific gravity of perhaps 1.020, that helps the fish maintain osmotic balance through all that damaged skin.

Thank you for the advice. I did move the tang into a 20g QT and began Duran-2. Went to check on the tang this morning to see it looking worse. Heavy breathing and sporadic swimming. Unfortunately, it passed few hours later.

Sorry for the loss!
