What is the best way to avoid cross contamination

I feel like an idiot por asking this but how should I go about it. I was planning on buying a lot of buckets for water changes, I also have to use the small python for water changes but I'm not sure how can I disinfect everything especially the python tubing. is vinager and drying enough to disinfect?

My plan is 14 days of copper powder at 1.75 then I will transfer them into a sterile qt in another room for observation and deworming.

The best way to prevent cross contamination is to have separate EVERYTHING for your QT, observation tank, and DT. Label everything etc. Separate food containers for each tank. These are my OCD practices. You can ask @4FordFamily I follow him around in my unfinished basement (our QT room) yelling at him all the time.

I also have separate freshwater bins as well. One for QTs, a separate one for DT/observation tanks.

Mind you I am running 6 QTs (365 gallons total), several fish, and have fish in QT and observation at the same time, as well as my 200g display.

If you have fish in all 3 tanks:
Next, when feeding or maintaining tanks. Always get DT addressed first. Then don't go near it again for a couple hours. Then move to clean observation tank, then QT.

If you don't have fish in QT and observation at same time, ALWAYS DT first then to the QT or observation.

Don’t worry with constant sterilization. Separate buckets, nets and hoses for the QT.

When I feed and do maintenance I start with the DT and do everything I need to with it. Last is the QT

TO clean buckets and or a python you can use strait hot hot hot hot water if you can not afford to get separate equipment. I use the same siphon at work on a fresh and salt tank and it gets dropped in a 5 gallon bucket of super hot water after each tank.

I use separate equipment as mentioned. I don't touch the QT without first putting on elbow length gloves, and then I take them off before leaving the room. Overkill? probably, but it helps me feel better about it
