What is the cheese type stuff growing on my wave makers

Its grown onlynon the rubber part of my wave maker. Is it some sort of bacteria or fungus??

Nope, its slimy and thick, cheese type. My urchin u to eat it, but had to remive it as it was shedding alot of its spikes, maybe coz of low vegie matter.

I am wondering if it is some in the rubber that is causing growth. It is time for the #reefsquad to step in. This one is a new one for me
System is 5 months old and stuff in growing on the power heads rubber parts, picture above.

I can't really tell what it is from the pictures. My guess is that the rubber is more "textured" than the plastic making it easier for whatever it is growing to attach than the smooth plastic that makes up the rest of the pump.

Iv seen such stuff growing in my fw tanks but only on silicone. However its more thin and goes away pretty fast like once the tank matures withing a month or so.

Yea, looks ugly. I guess a snail would eatvit, as iv seen snails like apple snail eat it in my fw tanks.
