What is the difference between the two Apex?

Like the title sais what is the difference bewteeen the apex controller and the apexel controller the price is significant is it just missing those couple of probes? I’m looking at buying one I have the old one and want to upgrade.

The Apex EL is missing these features:

Salinity probe
ORP probe
0-10v variable outputs

These features can be added on later by purchasing additional modules and probes. If you add them later, the total cost is $129 more than if you bought the full Apex, and it will take up more space in your cabinet due to the extra 3 modules.

They can be used to control certain pumps (speed & direction) and certain lights (brightness & color spectrum).
