What is the gelatin blob

I have found a few of these in my sand. They are always in this shape, it is very "squishy" and holds its shape. It is all sand. Very random and bad description. Just sharing what I can. I will include a picture of it broken open.

I believe it's just lumped together bacteria, etc. I just remove them but I don't think it harms anything to leave them in there.

I have a sixline wrasse it sleeps in a mucus bubble and that bubble collects sand sometimes and looks like that

I had this all the time. Before I had a wrasse and I just assumed it was accumulated mucus from snails lumping sand together. Haven't noticed it in a while though.

I have the same issue in my tank. Its like jelly mixed with sand.. Anyone knows what it is?

Just found this same looking stuff in my tank too after being gone for a week and not performing my normal weekly water change. Googled to see what it was and found this thread. Wondering if it has anything to do with dosing microbacter 7 or Dr. Tim’s Gel Packs? Anyone else using / dosing these? Was dosing NoPox but was creating more issues than solving. Quit that about 4 weeks ago and tanks back to looking amazing besides the jelly / egg sac looking pile in the sand.

I do own a wrasse so I’m going to see if he’s sleeping on it at lights out tonight.
