What is the most gentle wave maker for a 20G

What are my options? Everything appears way too strong. The " Jebao Sw-2" seems to be one of softest I found, but will it really have random patterns/flow? Then there is the Nero 3. I wanted 2 wave makers, but will they really get down to a creep? Thoughts?

Your hand will probably work the best. Just put it in (right or left it doesn’t matter). Then move it around. You can adjust the intensity of the flow based on how much you move it around. Sometimes just moving your fingers will be enough.

I like the Aqamai kps for my 15 gallon. That has gentle flow and adjustable with different flow patterns

I had bought a hygger Mini Wave Maker, the smaller said to be 1600 GPH, for my 10 gallon quarantine tank. It worked fantastic at the very lowest setting. Now I downsized my display tank and have not started the new tank. So that 10 gallon is currently housing the corals I kept, small clean up crew, fire shrimp and a pair of small clowns. I guess it’s been well over a year of use, with the last few months now of full time use of the Hygger and for the price I have no complaints!

I can’t hear it, easy to clean, low enough setting for my 10 gallons but would easily work in your 20 gallon. I used it for 2 months in a 20 gallon tall as well. The only downside I see is that it’s not as controllable as some, but works fine for my needs! For $70 it’s hard to beat!

Jebao ow-10. Works well with a great controller. 2 wave modes, random. I run one ow-10
In my 30g 20x24.
This is on wave 1 @2 power and 50%. 50% is the pulse.
I also run ow-25's and 40's.
1 25 in my 20g .

You could try a set of Random Flow Generators, and just skip the power head. They can create a broad gentle, randomized flow pattern.

Depending on the the return pump you're using, this could be a great option for the type of flow you are looking for.

That is great to here. I’m getting ready to set up my IM 40 tall, was planning on more of the Hygger, but honestly I miss the gyres from my previous tank. I’m not sure I like how direct the flow is from the Hygger style power heads. I had two Reefwave 25’s in my 65 galling display and loved how dispersed and indirect the flow was. I was afraid a gyre of any size would be too much for my new tank, so super stoked to have read about your experience with the 50!
