What is the most helpful wrasse?

Was he the last one added. I heard they are a little more peaceful if they r the last fish added. I had one and he was a terror. Cool to look at and always moving but a jerk
There are always exceptions to the rule. I have Owned 3 purple tangs over my 7 years in hobby. First purple tang was amazing. Never picked on any one. Never messed with new fish. I couldn’t have asked for a better tang. Gave that one to a friend when I tore a tank down. I have now tried twice to find one like that but have failed both times.

One of the first

I know they are not wrasses but I think more credit should go to yellow candy hog fish. They are very useful pest control fish that don’t seem to bother anyone. They tend to be a bit skittish but still great fish. Just saying

My Sixline did his job removing and keeping away flatworms, id like to get a possum wrasse if I can find one locally though

Bare bottom tanks...the six line and four line were mentioned... what else works well in a sandless tank?

If you have the room, look for wrasse dens. They’re Reef safe man made rock structures that usually have a couple entrances/exit holes in the rock. Inside the rock it’s shaped almost like a bowl. They come in a few different shapes and sizes. You can fill it with sand and it’ll give the wrasse a place to sleep while keeping the rest of your tank barebottom, without blowing sand all over the place either. You’ll need one per sand sleeping wrasse tho. I’ve seen some online, but the best Ive seen was at a local frag swap.

If you're to add a "sandbox" (container with sand) for genera which require it, then the only genera you have to pick from are the Pseudocheilinus and the Pseudocheilinops. The species of the former are all quite aggressive and incompatible with other wrasses. The latter is quite peaceful, but only has one species in the genus.
really would love one to eat my vermetids!
None of them will. Some will if you break the tubes and expose the worms for them, but none of them can get past that hard tube of protection.
Mine Very peaceful.
That is not the norm in the long term. As they age, almost all become quite pugnacious. There's always a few rare exceptions though.

That is also not the norm. Bodianus=jerk.

+1 to the evil nature of the sixline. Mine killed a dottyback early on and then was fine for years. One day he/she just snapped and harassed everybody.
