I have had this old guy since 1994. He has lost most of his banding over the years and they continue to fade a little more each year. He still tears my hand up when I have to put my hand in the tank.
What is the oldest fish in your tank?

Probably around 3.5" long. Yep, he is probably 16 yrs. I have had him since summer of '94.
Im trying to find an old film photo I have of him that was taken before the digital age hit....back when Red Sea Berlin skimmers were the chit

I wonder how many people are like me on this issue. Im going to say the oldest fish in my tank is the yellow tail damsels that cycled my tank.

Found some from '98 so far. This was my first real tank. Man, 55 gallons sure seemed huge back then.
This pic is before I tore the tank down and moved it into my Den. Wow, 12 years and 3 houses ago. The Kitchen sunlight kept the algae on its feet. This tank had 4, 40 watt Triton bulbs, some sort of HOB Seaquest skimmer and a skillter 400!
A little better photo here a year later after the tear down . He still hangs out in the center of the tank. In this tank shot I had stepped up to an Ice cap and VHO's. I even sprung for a HOB Red Sea Berlin Skimmer.

You know its funny you mention that. A few of my friends have gone round and round about what he or she is. I always assumed he stayed a male because he never grew that large. It would be very interesting to have some Clown fish guru's here try and determine the sex if at all possible.
In all seriousness, since all clowns are protandrous hermaphrodites it's most likely a female. I'm not aware of any reason, other than perhaps some sort of genetic defect, where a solitary clown wouldn't switch to female.

My oldest fish is 3 years old when I set the tank up (after cycle) and is a Scopas tang. My oldest fish I am currently keeping is in a freshwater planted tank and it is a black and white skirt tetra that is 11 years old.

I have a Royal Gramma and a Lawnmower blenny i got on the same day in Sept of 2003 for my bday. They both happen to be the only survivor from my 40b crash. (im using the term literally as the neighbors kid smashed the front pane with a maglight)
They are both now in a 20t that they have all to themselves.
