I've got a black molly sitting in an acclimation box in a display tank. He's been there for about a week now, and today I noticed a single, very small, white dot.

If he doesn't progress beyond this point, does this count as a "hit?"

I did 10 days of CP followed by FW dip then transfer to a DT that was fallow for 90+ days.

Watch the spot to see if it drops off. Give it 36 hours or so. Could be a missing scale, or another minor issue.

Would the spot dropping off be an indicator for or against parasites? It's mucous either way, no?

This molly was added to the tank on Saturday. He's been eating well lately but got stuck against the strainer in the overflow and definitely has seen a little damage.

If the spot is still there after 36 hours or so, it isn’t Cryptocaryon. If it goes away,?and new spots don’t replace it, it isn’t ich either. I guess what I’m saying is you need to wait and see what develops.
