Hi, I just found that there were shrimp like things floating around my tank. There were hundreds if not thousands of them. You was able to catch a few and take some pictures at 4x magnification, 10x magnification, just in the water droplet for scale, and 3x zoomed on my phone.
Any idea what they might be?
Thanks.

Do you have two cleaner shrimp, looks like when they spawn. Mine spawned like clockwork.

Could they survive a freshwater dip and coral dip, also I mostly cut off frog plugs with exception to a few that can’t be tacked off
Depends on the dip. I've killed a few on frag plugs from AquaSD. If I saw them first I would have used a pipette to move them to the display.

Yeah, I have a blood shrimp (Lysmata debelius) and a skunk cleaner shrimp (Lysmata amboinesis).
I'm sure they could successfully hybridize, I've seen much further species cross. Those are definitely shrimp larvae, if they were mysids they would be on the ground and in the rockwork.

I think it would be more likely one of these was added recently and was carrying eggs. I had the weirdest thing with my Boxer shrimp where four months after purchase it was suddenly carrying an egg clutch.

I got my blood shrimp (Lysmata debelius) April 10, 2023
And my skunk cleaner shrimp (Lysmata amboinesis)
July 24, 2022

I have seen them once before (the pictures are from then) and it was after I added the blood shrimp.

I think they are baby cleaner shrimp. Like I said, my shrimp did this like clockwork
I don't know the full biology, but they can store what is needed to fertilize eggs, so maybe they had a clutch right when you bought it and had more they could fertilize for another release. Mine did this every two and a half weeks.

If it is cleaner shrimp babies what do I need to do to keep them alive what would I need to feed them. You have given them phyto feast last night what else would they need

I currently have about 20 shrimps in a small jar with a macro algae, sand, and a bit of saltwater.
