Every single night it goes away but every single day I turn the lights back on and I get more and more and more of it. My sand sifting goby will not go to this side of my tank what is it Caroline growing int he sand? What do I do about it

try putting more flow on that end of your tank. move or turn a power head just a little can help..

If it disappears overnight it is just a harmless diatom algae

Check your nutrients and flow. Have you added any new supplements lately?

definitely cyano....check nitrates and phosphates. make sure tank temp is not above 78..its gets worse if it is. make sure your flow rate is good. its a pain.

Cyano for sure, as a last resort you can water change 10-20% and test the next day [emoji1303]

I had a decent Cyano outbreak in my tank. Turns out that after doing a 2 day blackout, replacing my bulbs [t5 petsmart bulbs (fluval?)] with new ATI bulbs, and decreasing my light schedule [by 1/2] for a week while bumping it back up about 15-30mins a day worked and it never showed up again. Hard to tell what did it for me, but the lights are the only major change that I made aside from the blackout.
