I appreciate you taking time to try to help djtripoalo, I dont believe this is any form of slime algae. I have dealt with those outbreaks in the past and this does not resemble anything like a cyano outbreak. This algae is leafy and only grows on rock.
The lights are on for 12-14hrs daily which under most circumstances is WAY LONG...but its 2 t-5 10000k and actinic....and one 50/50 power compact that have to pass through a glass canopy that old and coated with hard water deposits (very opaque) temp is 77-78. Among a few softies I also have a Hellfire anemone, rock anemone, and the beast of nutrient devourers a big sea squirt, so I feel that excess nutrient is not a big problem. Run a phosphate reducer pad in the wet/dry. Good amount of flow throughout tank. Every few weeks I toss in a chemipure bag into the box for a few days.
Any thoughts on IDing this algae is appreciated.
