What is this algae ??

Are these jsut diatoms or what? had to leave town for 10 days and trusted a friend to just do the basics of keeping up with my tank till I returned and came home to a mess.

There where also tons of little brown dots on my glass. Was thinking maybe aptasia or the brown stringy algae?

Looks like "New Tank Uglies" to me. It's hard to tell with the blue tint, but I'd guess diatoms. And you'll know aiptasia when you see them.

You should probably dip that plug in peroxide mix to kill the algae on it. It is thick on it.

yes this tank is only about two months old, ive just never seen diatoms get so stringy and I did dip the plug twice and nothing came off of it

how much peroxide should i use? i tried dipping with coral RX, didnt do anything

I don’t think you should do anything apart from waiting for the tank to evolve.
