What type of coral is this?
Also it's kinda hard to see, but at the right and left edges of the coral there is some kinda dark redish growth. What should I do about this? The coral continues to grow, but as you can see the left stalk is very floppy...still growing, but floppy.

Thanks!

It looks like either a Capnella or Nephthea IMO. I'm not seeing those reddish growths you were talking about though.

The growths are the darker area at the bottom edges of the coral

I'm still not able to make them out, but you might want to look into either Vermetid snails or perhaps Foraminiferans. Both of these can appear as reddish protrusions from a structure or rock.

Don't think they are vermetids as they don't look tubular and I've not seen any white "hairs" coming from them. Foraminiferans...I'm not sure. The areas themselves don't seem to be growing and are not mobile. Just wondering if I should try to save it off or split up the coral...not sure.

? Should I try to cut out the "growth"? Should I cut off the left stalk since it's skeletal structure is affected (all floppy)?

Possibly tiny feather dusters. I have them I almost every dark (not in direct light) portion of my tank. If so their great filter feeders

The coral looks great, so I wouldn't mess with nature quite yet. GL.
