Thank you for your suggestions! I run carbon and gfo and vibrant but it seems not being affected, and removing them manually is so hard. I will give emerald carb and urchin a shot. Also known as Red Wire Algae. This stuff is so annoying. If you can, remove whatever seems to be growing it and try to pick it off manually with tweezers; strand by strand if you can. (some people even burn this stuff off their live rock cause their roots penetrate into the rock.) If it feels like it is too much to do that, get yourself an emerald crab, a tuxedo urchin, or even some snails have been known to eat it. Also, try checking your phosphates at your LFS or using a test kit and doing a big water change before you do anything too crazy, sometimes the simplest answer is the best!
Curious to see an update on this. I’ve tried Mexican turbos with no real luck. At first they started eating it and it’s like they just gave up. I was going to try either a peroxide dip or burning it off nextThank you for your suggestions! I run carbon and gfo and vibrant but it seems not being affected, and removing them manually is so hard. I have used a combination forces of short spin urchin, pencil urchin, blue Tuxedo urchin, and turbo. There is only a little bit left in the crevice nowCurious to see an update on this.
