what is this and should i kill it?

i assume this thing made its way into my dt from my sump, which has been getting wild. can you let me know what it is and if i should kill it?

I think it is a medusa worm. Read about it and you decide. Some people like them.

Medusa worm - they're harmless and help keep the tank clean. I've got a bunch in my SPS dominant tank and they keep my sand super clean!
