I have this growing on some rock and not sure what it is. If it's a variant of Apitasia or some type of polyp.

It most certainly looks like aiptasia. The test is if you were to touch them with something, they very quickly retract.

Looks like majano anemones. Some people like them but they are considered a pest and will grow very quickly in numbers if not dealt with.

I have about 7 of these in my tank and didn't know till now what it was. Started growing on my mushroom coral and thought it was okay and after reading about then on google their actually bad for the tank. Now gotta but something to kill them.

I usually inject hot kalkwaser (sp?) into them and they die. If I had a lot of them on 1 rock I'd take it out and nuke em.... Sucks if they get all over the tank.

This is great advice. Take the rock out of the tank if removing by hand.

Don't nuke them in the tank. they can multiply like crazy if any loose flesh gets out.
