Agree with asterina.

Some people have no issues with them and others have had them eat corals. Usually, the white ones are algae grazers, but they can reach very large numbers very quickly. If this happens, I can see where they may consume corals for nutrition.

I typically remove them if I see them, as I have enough algae grazers of more preferable types.

Note: They are also known to consume coralline algae, so if you want purple on the rocks, they could slow the process.

100% correct here.

I found out I have an Asterina because in one of my nano tanks, I started to wake up and see florescent pink spots on my rock.

Checked one night early morning and there was an Asterina on a ridge of the rock, next morning, florescent pink in the same area.
