What is this bristletooth?

Yeah, I saw that too. Not sure, almost looks like a bristle version of the koi tang which is usually an aberrant yellow. This almost looks like an aberrant Tomini ..... or maybe a two spot?

Searching on the name it yields various tangs so my guess is an assorted bucket of tangs 600 bucks though....

It looks somewhat like a Mimic tang to me, Acanthurus pyroferus. Not exactly but close, including the pattern of color.
IMO, not a bristletooth tang.

I agree that it's one of the mimic tangs, just in a color not usually seen on an adult. They call it a Bristletooth (Ctenochaetus) tang but looks more like the Acanthurus for sure.

I agree with these folks.

The bristletooth tangs are eating algae in a different way compared to Acanthurus so its easy to see which genus it is.

Before the fish was sold the name was changed to a mimic tang I believe : acanthurus tristis

Looks like they put it up again as A. tristis, unless it's a different fish. Looks the same to me.
