Found this bumpy stuff growing on my live rock. Similar color to coraline. Looks lightly fuzzy. Semi hard. Growing in one area only.

At the 1st moment I guess it's plate coraline algae..., but if isn't that hard, then I'm not sure...
Do you have plate coraline in your tank somewhere, on a shade spot or under moderate to low light on your LR? About macro algae have some which look like this and they are semi hard, but I don't member the names, but can't recognise it as Homotrema rubrum (I had that one before, it don't look like your one)

Thanks for your reply! Nothing growing in shady spots. Tank is very new, only a few months. That one piece of live rock it’s on, I got from the LFS and it has beautiful dark coraline all over it. This patch of red stuff is growing at the very top of the rock in the brightest spot. Nothing on the other rocks in the tank yet other than some of those little white snails.

After moth+/months you will be full with life creatures and stuff there.., don't worry about, you will find so many new things, which will surprise you often xD
So leave that one to grow, and come back after while with new photos..., then we can help probably more...
Or something else if isn't hard like you say..., it can be dragon breath too (macro algae), in LR from LFS/friends etc... which is mature for some time there can be so many different stuff, which will appear after while. Everything in the reef need it own time. Patience is the answer for each question xD
