What is this cool guy??

Sorry I tried to do a quick search but want to ID this guy before he crawls back into his hole and I can't get him out if needed. My first time with live rock and after 4 weeks of seeing nothing but two asterina starfish this bad boy pops out. I assume he is some sort of crab but his shell seems super soft almost like soft coral against the rock. He has several black legs or tentacles. Any idea what he is? Nothing else in the tank yet, it is cycled but haven't added a fish yet.

He SOUNDS cool and Im picturing him being really cool too... but its hard to tell without the picture.

on a more serious note, it sounds like a brittlestar maybe?

First time seeing someone paint their rock black... lol

All jokes aside, I haven't seen anything like that before. Hopefully you can get that video uploaded so we can see it in action. Following to find out.

Edit: the guy above me seems to have the right idea.

I think you are right on the elephant slug. He doesn't care for light much, soon as I turn it on he starts migrating south. Still trying to get the video to load, will try a smaller video here in a bit.

Anyone have any tricks to get videos to load to this dang site? LOL. Elephant slug and black limpet the same thing? Google search is leading me to believe so but getting conflicting reports of reef safe or not (limpet yes and elephant slug no). He has retreated now to his dark cave but got some great video before he did. I do hope I can keep him around.
