So I am new to saltwater tanks and I recently set up my first tank (half a week ago). For the tank I bought a live rock from a local fish store and I put it in the tank to cycle. I did not notice this before but this morning when I checked on it I found what looks to be a small coral. I don’t know if it is still alive since when transporting the rock to my house is was out of the water in a tied plastic bag for 30+ minutes. Does anyone know what kind of coral it is, if it’s still alive, and what I should do about it? There is also nothing else alive in the tank.

Another vote for corallimorph/mushroom of some sort, especially if it's soft to the touch as the image suggests.

Could be a rhodactis, even a shrunken-down yuma although that would be pretty rare to find as a hitchhiker, or some other poorly characterized species.

Great little hitchhiker. It is a shroom, but not sure if rhodactis, ricordea, or other. It should be fairly easy to care for. Do nothing really except do not starve the tank. Lower light will be fine too.

Yuma - cant tell color as too much blue light

Thanks guys. I bought zooplankton and phytoplankton to feed it. Here is an image of it without the blue light

Hello and welcome to R2R!

Light is all it needs to grow ;)

Ricordea is basic care:

Moderate light and water flow
temp 77-79
Salinity 1.024-1.025
ph 8.0-8.3
Phos < .04
Nitrate < .04
Ammonia < .03

Use/utilize a pouchof chemipure blue which will keep control of toxins which they are sensitive to.

Welcome to the reef! Looks like a shroom to me! Should be a great first coral and with the braintrust around here you are in great hands!
