I bought it from local fish store. It is in good condition for a week, and after the long weekend travel it dead. Not sure why, 1.021, NO3 is about 2, temp 80, PH 8.3.

I want to learn what coral it is so I can prepare before buying it again.

Salinity is low IMO you need to raise it up to 1.023-1.025. Looks like Green Star Polyps/GSP. Raise your salinity slowly over a few days

Yes, it's Green Star Polyp. As others have stated, it can become very invasive if not isolated. It is a very hardy coral. I have a rock that I have it isolated upon that has also hosted a clown.

If you want to keep coral your salinity needs to be at 1.026

And that will be still safe for crown fishes? I never had my salinity that high before
Yes it’s safe but you’ll want to raise it over time. You can do it with water changes

Looks like GSP, I would move it off that rock or it will start to take over before you know it. Isolate it on its on rock in the corner of the tank they look really good on a rock on the sand-bed.

It seems that it already dead .. it has been 3 days it hide into its tiny hole. Is that normal? Would it revive?

leave it in there. ive had mine close up completely for a whole month. I find that is normal for them when they move tanks. give it a few weeks and it will probably come back stronger than ever. +1 on secluding it

Break that off and put it on an island of it's own. It's beautiful, but it's just easier to control that way.

From my experience it could be dying/dead, but I have seen GSP comeback from dead like Jesus, its a pretty tough coral. If it does die off and you think you want some GSP now tons of places and people sell it. best placement I have had with it was medium to high flow on an isolated rock on the sand.

It should absolutely revive. Green Star Polyps are one of the most resilient corals out there. Also, they get a lot of hate, but they're beautiful and I don't mind them taking up some space.

Like everyone has said...it is GSP and it grows extremity fast!!! I got a little piece for free with another coral and decided to throw it in my QT tank about two and a half months ago. It was about two square inches and now it has almost taken over the rock I put in on and it is starting to grow over the sand. The only good picture I have of it is a shot of the whole tank, but it is the green grass growing on the rock on the left...

This was a couple weeks ago and it has grown a bit more down the rock. I was going to put the whole rock in my DT or glue the GSP to the back wall, but as fast as it is growing I would be cutting it back weekly. I think I will leave it in the QT so it will be easier to maintain. I will add that this was taken in the early morning so not everything is not completely out yet. The GSP does get fuller and you can see the white spots on each polyp clearly. It is a very good looking coral, just grows like a weed though.

GSP is a coral on its own level. It looks like grass, has a soft skeleton so it can bend around everything easily. I’ve seen tanks covered with them. So much so where the back glass looked like grass. They’re invasive over time but easy to control if you need to. For a young tank, it’s a great starter.
