What is this cute little dude?

Found this neat little guy cruising along in a container filled with algae I was getting ready to throw out today. What is it? And is he safe to go into the reef?

Did a little digging, think it might be a oxynoe viridis... any confirmation? Read they feed on algae, so might toss him in my tank.

Your right on the ID although I can't find that they eat bad algae. I saw calurpra but nothing on hair, bubble, bropsis, ect.

My display has macros in it (one being red grape which looks pretty similar), so I'd worry he might go for that, but I do have some Caulerpa in a separate tank he could go in for now.

Yep they munch on macro algae

Thanks! I put him in the pico, which is essentially a place for a all the odd little animals that I'm not sure I want going in the main tank. Haha

I had one appear in one of my tanks. We named him Shrek. It stuck around for a while then disappeared just like he appeared.

Actually its Oxynoe, they do like quite similar though.
