Probably a basic question, but still new to the hobby. I have been struggling with diatoms, but have recently started seeing this green algae pop up. What kind is it? Thanks!

Someone will chime in with a more specific answer, but it’s a very standard algae that will cover your rocks and turn to brown and hopefully coralline shortly thereafter. You may notice it looks green under heavy whites and lights out, but brown under blues.

Thanks! Are there any types of snails that are good for it?

It will pass. Enjoy the green color and watch it change over time. I had all purple coralline covered rocks. Then had to sell it all due to a move and got dry rock to start seeding. Now it’s covered in green algae like yours. Don’t stress about it.
