What is this gross thing

Well I got everything setup as quickly as possible and was able to catch the fish with any problem but as soon as I added it to the QT it started going down hill real fast. Unfortunately didn't make it through the night.
Thanks to you guys for giving me the help you could but I think it was just too late.

Did you happen to take any pictures with natural light or after the fish had passed maybe out the water ?

I ask because sometimes having a look from different angles and out the water can show more detail
