They spread prolifically not to mention sting and injure/kill anything near them. Your polyps that are close to the Aiptasia will not open up. Yes, remove it and all of it or it will replicate itself.

I just had this same issue, used Aiptasia X by Red Sea to kill it and haven’t seen it back since.

I would highly recommend taking the rock out and killing it. They are the devil in a reef tank.

I’ve also used Aptasia-X successfuly. I had to dose it twice. Guess I didn’t cover it completely the first time.

You can also use a kalk paste and a needle.

I have had good luck pulling the piece out and super gluing over the entire aptasia once it has shriveled up.

I second the kali paste itll kill alittle of the surrounding zoas. But it works if you let it sit for a while with the pumps off give it time to do its magic!
