This morning I was changing my filter floss and noticed a new addition to my sump. Can anyone identify it and tell me if it should be removed? The second shot is a closeup.

Chances are, you have it elsewhere. You have to attack it from as many fronts as you can.
Aptasia X, but be sure to cover the entire critter or it may release its babies

File fish and butterflies....normally once they eat it, they love, but they may not eat it if they are hungry

Peppermint shrimp

Berghia nudibrach.....not all nudibrach eat the aptasia.

Qt your critters.

Most likely it is in your overflow, dt, and sump.

These can kill many thing in your tank. Everyone will deal with this at some time. But it is evasive so don't take it lightly

As mentioned I had it growing on my rocks and my filefish took care of them and my DT has been ok for sometime. Therefore I was shocked to see this one inside my sump.
