Hello fellow reefers,

Can anyone id what I have growing on my live Rock, over the last two weeks it has really grown in size. Sorry for the poor image quality, can't be seen properly on the image but it is red in colour.

Thanks in advance

Dom

not much :)

could be cyano, could be red coralline, could be something else.

does it blow off? is it hard? soft?

J.
It's hard, doesn't blow off but can scape some off with twizzers.

Lighting is tricky and can affect what things look like on a computer. How long have you had your tank running? If it has been about six months or more (depends on the tank), I'd bet on coralline.

Tank has been running just over 6 months now, have got coralline on back wall but it's light in colour. This is growing all over the one piece of live rock I've got in my tank and nowhere else, the rest of rock in tank is life rock and it is not growing on them. Hoping it is coralline

I'm not good with IDing algae but you can Google red turf algae
Thank you I'll have a look, I'm still only a newbie and have no first hand experience with any of these algaes so not really sure what I'm looking for to id lol.
