Hi Thanks for the reply. Yes I am new to the hobby and this is a brand new tank currentky going through the cycle.. I do know the cycle process but didn't know about this thats why I posted..Looks like a brand new tank considering how bleached out the rocks and sand are. And I'm assuming you're new too the hobby since you aren't familiar with diatoms. That's what the brown algae is. It's part of the cycling process new tanks go through and will more than likely be a regular battle; due to many things such as low maintenance, over feeding, bad water quality in general. As of now it's due too the tank being brand new, read up on the cycling process of saltwater tanks.
Thank you for your help much appreciated! So more so out of curiosity.. Is it best if i remove this myself or just let it run its course and assuming it will clear itself with regular water changes and obviously the clean up crew when I'm able to start putting them in.
