From the picture it looks very "sponge" like, which is no worries and a sign of a heathy tank.
Except... your rock work looks super new and sponges would tend to grow in a bit more established tanks. Not saying that this can't happen, it is just weird that this would grow before algae.
How old is your tank? What are your parameters like? Are you dosing anything?
