So I've got a bunch of this turning up in my tank. It's stiff, and short about 1-2cm. Does anything eat it? I've got hermits and an emerald, but they don't seem to be making a dent. I pulled out one rock last night and pulled as much as I could off, but hopefully I won't have to do that to each rock. Any help on id and how to rid would be greatly appreciated. Pick in next post.

It's a turf algae I believe. Unfortunately I have no first hand experience with what eats it. Neither snails or hermits touched mine.

I was thinking an urchin from reading, thanks for the pencil suggestion. I had a sea hare for a while, something in the tank attacked it though, still have no idea what.

They're real finicky and need a lot of nutrients in the system or they'll die. Mine died two days after changing my water change, and another one I had gotten later down the road died after I added my monthly carbon for 72hrs. It may have just starved even.

Scribe I see you're from Plymouth meeting, where do you shop for corals? I live in Phoenixville and pretty much only shop at ASR in Frazer. If you're getting frags from a place by you there's a chance you're hitch hiking stuff in from their system, although always stocked down there by you I never buy anything living from there unless it's still in a bag directly from their vendor.

Mike at ASR is pretty ,inch the only place I buy live locally. If I'm thinking of the place by me you are off Germantown Ave, I only buy dry goods there. I'm not sure where it came from, the Algae that is, but I'd def. like to take care of it.

Good info on the pencil. I'll be researching more before I buy one. Pencil or other invert to try to maul through this stuff.

Lol yup and even my dry goods I try getting through mike only just to support local over corporate

This stuff sucks. I cleaned of two rocks in about two hours. Need to get some sort of crew on the job, cause this just ain't no fun.
