What is this in my overflow?

While cleaning out my Stockman overflow silencer I noticed this thing in my overflow everything is sealed up so I can't get to it I know the little bitty Critters are sponges but what is this thing?




The next three pictures are zoomed in going from bottom to top








Not sure if this picture will help but it's from the bottom of the Overflow looking up to the bottom of this whatever it is.

What happens when you swallow bubble gum and fast forward 5 years.

My guess would also be a sponge. I would remove, hob overflow and any creature can lead to a clogged overflow imo, regardless what it is.

I would love nothing more than to remove it. But I can't it's in the baffles and my overflow is sealed
