He came on my blue monti cap and has stayed in the same spot for months almost symbiotically growing with the coral in brown hard spirals. Two little brown antennas wave about and thats about it. I have a berghia nudibranch that seems keen on hanging next to it

Yikes just read up on these little guys, should I kill it? Plug the head with superglue?
 
I don't think that's a vermetid. More like a chaetopterid imo. Vermetid don't hang out of their tubes like that, just the mucus strings.

Tomorrow when my lights come on I will post an image of two very large Vermetid in my macro algae tanks.

I never let them get that large! I guess I wouldn't know. Good call!

The spiral shell is a good indicator. Mine are Godzilla Vermetid, and there is very little for them to eat. I am really careful about introducing to my tank. They can live in the macro algae tank, but not in the display.
