What is this little creeper I found in my sump?

Is it an egg sac of some kind?

Wow. Wild guess is a nudibranch. Diaulula sandiegensis.
The spotting is reminiscent of it, but it's not D. sandiegensis (and not just because that's a temperate/coldwater species from the US West Coast) - OP, could you safely remove it from your tank in a container of tank water for some clearer pics?

The fact that it seems to grow translucent/transparent by the top is interesting.

A few questions:

-Does it move on its own in any way, or not? (If it gets blown/moved by the flow, but it doesn't move otherwise, say that.)

-Are the black spots actually black spots, or just spots where we can see through it to the equipment behind it?

-Can you describe it at all - texture, soft/firm, is it anchored in place, etc.?

Not sure if it moves on its own, I left it alone. Sorry, can’t remove for better pics because it was gone when I got back home.

Yes, definitely black spots, which was interesting.

Texture was soft, but not sure if it was anchored or free floating. I am terrible at this. lol

Thanks for weighing in. I find the biodiversity of a reef tank fascinating.

Lol, it's indeed fascinating.

Really?? That's my favorite part!
Lol yeah I hate it! Especially the worms. I have a phobia about centipedes and lots of marine worms look like them or just have way to many stringy things attached! Creeps me out! Which is why when my 300 is up and running I will be employing a bird wrasse to eat all those critters lol

Bristleworms? They eat left over food and keep the holes in your rockwork clean. They're just little guys.
