What is this little guy?

I've noticed my frogspawn hasn't really extended far since I got it, so I dipped it and moved it to a new location and just noticed this on the bottom of the skeleton. Anybody know what this is?

I think it’s a new head too. My Octo does the same thing as it reserves energy for growth.
