i recently bought a small colony of zoas and there was this weird looking thing on the bottom, and now I just found a smaller one halfway across my tank does anyone have any idea of what it might be??

I had some on my live rock when i first got it but they were dead. If you still have it get a razor and slice it in half.

I pulled it off the rock, and it's sitting in a little container next to my tank haha, but how come in half?

Looks like a shredded piece of plastic or rubber that was some how introduced to the medium during curing.
It does not look biological in nature. It should be easy for you to tell if it's animal, mineral or vegetable, or plastic just by manipulating the piece. If it is biological growth of plant or animal it should have odor.

Hmm it's definitely an animal, I just can't figure out what it is, the first picture kinda shows how it was attached to the rock and that bristly part I'm assuming would be the mouth. The day I removed it was because I saw another one that hadn't been ther before so seeing it made me take the one in the picture out. It's probably hard to see but this is the smaller one and it's right above that bit of light, unfortunately my phone camera kinda sucks hahah
