It’s a yellow sponge type thing doesn’t seem to be harming anything

Generally speaking, unless the sponge starts smothering corals, it’s a harmless/beneficial filter feeder. Nothing to be concerned about.
Is there a way I can detach him from this coral and move him?

It probably depends on how sensitive the sponge is - some would handle being scraped off and put down somewhere else just fine as long as conditions are good for them, others may not handle it well. If you try it, you’d probably want to keep the sponge underwater the whole time - people report that they don’t handle air exposure well.

Take frag out in a container of tank water and scrape it off. While this type not invasive, it can climb /form up the base
