I've had this coral in my tank for about 4 months and recently noticed these brownish things on them. Any ideas of what they could be nd how to treat it?

Test results from last Saturday:

Phosphate - .24
Nitrate - 5
Alkalinity - 9.4
Calcium - 460
Magnesium - 1410

Thanks in advance for your help!

It kind of looks like a tube worm or some type of algae. I would maybe try lowering your phosphates a little. Have you ever tried using vibrant?

It appears to be the skeleton that has broken through the flesh and is now covered in brown algae.

To be safe and assure nothing is within this tube such as vermetid, take a pliers and break off at base and discard

That is absolutely the skeleton breaking through the flesh, like @JGT mentioned. I unfortunately have been dealing with the same thing. With algae growing on there youre going to have issues with those polyps recovering. I'm not sure what the best course of action would be but I would absolutely not do anything to physically break the skeleton or tissue surrounding it. Best course of action I would go with would be some form of dip daily.

It's just exposed skeleton. Polyp extension isnt looking too great tbh. Try lowering your light power, and turn down those white, up the blues. 70-30 ratio

I have been manually dosing vibrant for the last 10-12 weeks or so, but there has been a few weeks recently where I missed dosing. I ordered some Phosphate Rx to see if this will help get my phosphates down a little.

Thanks Fish_Sticks. I will lower the light levels and see if that helps.

Here is an example of how the extension for these should look like.

I don't feed them directly, usually. They might catch LRS that I feed the fish, I dose reef energy, and very rarely reef roids.
