What is this on my clown??

I just noticed this on my clown. It looks like his top fin is rotting off I can see what looks like bone kinda clear looking. I did remove a bully maroon clown he teroised everyone in my tank even a sailfin that was about 3x his size and this little guy. He almost killed him so I put him in my sump untill I got the bully out. Anyway his fins grew back and now this. His tank mates are a wrasse, flame hawk, and a small blue tang. I see no aggression at all everyone is playing nicely from what I see. Here are some pics they are blury cause I blew them up to show but what looks like a light reflection in one pic it's not. It's his fin.

My guess would be he got beat up and now has an infection. Keep your water cleaner than normal and make sure he's being fed heavily..

^^^This would be my guess as well. If you can catch him, your clownfish would benefit from a week or so spent in a HT while dosing a mild antibiotic. Something like Erythromycin or Kanamycin should do the trick.

Ok I'll try to catch him. Will the antibiotic be ok in a QT that has copper in it? Cause I currently have a QT set up with a new fish in it with copper. If not no biggie I can set up another one in a snap.

Yes, but it would be better to setup another QT for a few reasons:

1- You don't want to expose your clownfish to any disease the new fish may have. Be sure to space the two QTs at least 10 feet away from one another (and the DT) to eliminate any possibility of aerosol transmission.

2- Copper deletes oxygen. Antibiotics really depletes oxygen. So, mixing the two is less than ideal. Always point a PH (or use an air stone) towards the surface of the water for additional gas exchange when using antibiotics.

3- Copper can suppress appetite. Antibiotics really suppresses appetite.

So, while I have mixed copper with antibiotics many times... I advocate only doing so as a last resort.

Copper will also suppress the fishes own immune system. In its current state I would suggest leaving it in your main display to minimize stress and just make sure to fed heavy with a high grade food soaked in supplements keeping a close eye on the fishes health.
