What is this on my conches shel??

I’m new to this hobby and came home today and saw what looks like the shape of a limpet on the back of my conches shell. I’ve noticed it before but today a black tongue was protruding...and it looks like a snakes tongue. I pulled the conch out of my tank and whatever it is will not be easy to remove. Any ideas?? Thanks!
