What is this on my eagle eye zoa?

My zoa is closed up because I moved it but noticed this in the middle of the polyps. What is this?

Looks like that possibly could be a zoa thats melting in the middle of the colony..

Looks nothing like it to me...More like a random polyp of something else, it looks a lot larger than the zoas surrounding it.

Hmmm, it kinda looks like a different coral or is it a zoa?

Look up candy cane coral.. Looks like it to me.

I'd try to excise it as close to the base as possible and remount it if it looks like a coral. I don't think I'd blame it for the closed zoas though.

It could be a candy cane coral the way its shape.
I'll try exciting it and recounting it.

Oh yes, well aware of the zoas toxins. Extra precaution when I do it.
